6mm BR/Dasher Questions

Hi guys. There was an article outlining how to modify a Remington 700 mag to feed 6BR rounds on accurateshooter.com. Most of the pictures do not come up and I was wondering if anyone had a copy of them? The website it directs you to (bryant customs) doesn't work either. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, have a 6 Dasher built on a Sako 85 with a 26" 1:10 twist barrel. Was curious if anyone had any load data for light bullets (55-75gr) using Hogdon (ADI) powders.

Build a space to fit in the back of your magazine. then cut down your follower to fit. Use a .223 mag spring. You may have to file the ejector groove to get a little more protrusion if it is dropping cases.

My Remington will feed a dasher or br just fine with 68 - 105 bergers. I just load the cartridge as far forward as I can in the mag. Sometimes I have to bend the spring under the follower ,to apply a little more tension on the rear of the follower. This makes is feed a tad better on some of my guns. All my guns feed well like this. As far as a BR load for the light stuff I put a 68g berger on top of 34g Varget, 5k jam, cci br4 primer, and shoot nice groups in the low two's. I shoot every thing with this load out to 500. Anything farther I use the dasher with 105's.
Hope this helps K Redden

I would refer you to ALF on this topic. He has many, many dashers built on the 700 actions. Actually , that last time this came up he posted an impressive array of pictures of his varmint hunting rigs.

Indeed he does have a few and I have owned a couple of his old ones.... I am still trying to sweet talk him into selling me a couple more!!

Okay back to topic. The Dasher will cycle fine as long as you place the load rounds in the magazine about 3/8" forward from the most reward position. You can cycle as many Dashers as you want out of a 700 as long as you do this and don't dilly dally the bolt.

You can modify your mag box but it is not necessary.
