6mm BPC

Has anyone heard of this case.
I was shown a headspace gauge today.
I was also told it was a take off of thre grendel case.

There're a few cartridges out there based on the 6.5 Grendel / 22/6PPC / .220 Russian parent cartridge
(those being in reverse order as to when they appeared) likely owing to the efficiency that particular combination of case diameter and length achieves, and of course the availability of good parent brass.

I've not (yet) heard of those two though. Curious to know how they might differ from Robert Whitley III's 6mmAR, Turbo & 40° Improved cartridges, and the 6RAT from Jeff Krebaum.

Appears the .243 LBC is a 6mm Grendel; no changes to the shoulder pitch of position?

6mmBPC might be just a typo... 6PPC's been around for some years, been tried in an AR platform before.

A Grendel necked to 6mm would be more akin to a 6PPC Improved. I doubt very much if the capacity would equal that of a 6mmBR. There is a wildcat 6PPC Improved from the 1980s called the 6mm Firewalker. It was a good enough cartridge but couldn't equal the original PPC. I had one.

Nothing to see here folks. Keep moving. ::)

Thanks for the imput.
It probably is just a 6.5 grendel necked to 6mm.
wouldn't that be the 6mm grendel? ::)
Can't be anything-Grendel unless Bill Alexander gets paid........ ;D

The 6ARturbo40º case is a bit between a BR and a Dasher.

Is Les Baer Chinese? I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all but...... :-\

The only thing about the Grendel that is protected, is the name Grendel. The cartridge itself is not protected. I think Les realized that and simply renamed it the LBC. The grendel case is precisely, a .075" long PPC necked to 6.5. The beauty of it is Lapua brass with small primers and small flash holes. It's a wildcatter's dream come true for small cased wildcats. I have had some success with it in VFS matches, necked to .30. The beauty here is a PPC boltface rifle becoming a truely competitive score rifle, for both IBS and NBRSA. I call it a 30 Major, and have been shooting it since 2007. Case capacity is almost exactly between a PPC and BR capacities, with the standard shoulder. It offers a bit more capacity than the PPC and is super easy to form when staying with the original 30 degree shoulder(same as PPC and BR). Neck it up or down and call it what you want...It's a great little case to play with.--Mike Ezell

I have the 6ARturbo40º and agree, it's a great cartridge design.
