6mm Bergers for hunting

I haven't used the 105's yet,i have used 68gr's in a 6br) but berger says they should work just as good as any hunting bullet.

Here is a pic of a 95 gr VLD...it was used successfully on a 6 point buck....150+ lbs. at 205yds.......it was shot thru from side to side, destroyed all internal organs...)it droped like a two legged chair!!! and the bullet was found in the front 1/4 under the skin..,almost clear thru)....the 95 gr bullet retained 57 gr of wt....,63 % weight retension)........this bullet was fired from a 6mmBR --MV 2972 fps --Krieger four groove bbl.,,,you can see the four slits in the mushroom of the bullet!!!!!!)))...Roger

Out of a 243 a 95gr NosBT also weighed 57gr after going through a whitetail doe this year. Just saw a program that they hunted elk and shot one with a berger and it droped in its tracks.

Dropped a large 200+pound 9 point whitetail at 225yards with a 90BT out of a 243. Deer dropped in its tracks. We found the bullet, or what was left of it, inside the hide. About 20-30 grs of the lead core. The bullet simply exploded.

Also got a pic of a doe taken by a friend through the neck at 200 yards. Used a 168 VLD, exit hole about 6 inches. Unreal.

I have no problems using them and next year plan to test out a bunch on my "backyard" does that are eating everything in sight.

Shot a mule deer this year at about 75 yds with a 243 and berger 95 grn VLD. The bullet blew up inside the deer and ruined the far shoulder. Killed the deer quickly, but the meat loss was extreme due to bullet fragmentation. I will not be using the bullet again for hunting mule deer.

The Berger VLDs have been proven to work at velocities as low as 1,800 fps. Velocities lower than this have not been tested.

Regards,
Eric
