6mm berger 105 hybrid

Was wondering if anyone knows the variable BC G7 on the 6mm hybrid. Im showing a .281 above 3000 but can't find anything on 2500, 2000. etc. Just trying to get my ballestic program dialed in a little better. Thanks Bill

Sorry, I just checked Bryan Litz's Second Edition book, they don't list the hybrid. Shoot it over long distances and compare your results to the program. There is usually more inaccuracy from the chronograph data when using a ballistic program than the G7 BC value.

Ya, I've got his book and it does not show the Hybrid. Sure helps dial in the ballestic programs, but i can play with the numbers if not out. Thanks Bill

Only the G1 needs to be separated by velocity for boat-tailed bullets. Since the bullet is pretty close to the G7 profile, that BC should be ok for all velocities.

Ya, I'm just now playing with the ballestic programs, thinking the best is to get real world data on yardages for my base and adjust my program to that on MOA, maybe not so much coeffiecients. then update current weather conditions from my base. Thanks

I think that the G7 is good for all velocities.

G1 is for flat-based bullets. Brian got the G7 bandwagon rolling a few years ago stating it's a better "fit" for the projectile shapes we use for long range these days.

Berger's 105 Hybrid (p/n 24433) labeled G7 of 0.278 is an average but until Brian adds updated info someplace (not yet appeared on his Applied Ballistics LLC info page) that'll have to suffice.

If it helps, for their 6mm 105VLD the G7 is: 0.272 (1500 fps), 0.269 (2000 fps), 0.274 (2500 fps), 0.275 (3000 fps).

The 155 Hybrid data may shed some light: G7 of 0.248 (1500), 0.244 (2000), 0.248 (2500), 0.248 (3000).

2000 fps & a little each way seems to be where the BC falls off with all profiles. I'd have to believe the 105 Hybrid follows the same pattern.

I've come to realize theres more variables to this long rang shooting than a golf game. bad thing about it I'm not a golfer, Kinda carried the four terminology over on misses though. I appreciate all the info. You where correct on the G1@.278 been crunching numbers to long and MOST of the G1 do drop accordingly in Mr Litz book. I think I'll start as you mentioned .278 and drop accordingly as the VLD do until i can get some real live data and a base to adjust to. Thanks Bill
