6mm AR Turbo 40 imp, 6 Fat Rat, 243LBC 40 imp (no 6mm ARC) 2021

Hi, we're 2021, lots of 6mm AR T40 and equal posts are old.
That's why I open this new one and hope to collect some information on loads with CFE223, N140, IMR 4166, ... if possible with pics.

I have a 27" Custom AR15 with rifle +2" gas lenght.

Because I live in Europe I can't get all the powders you use in the US.
With IMR 4166, N140 I didn't got the velocity I expected. With RS52 and N150 pressure problems with the 105gr RDF.

So I want to test now the 95gr SMK to have less problems with bulky powder?
Also 95gr SMK and 105gr with CFE 223. Lot of guys posted in other discussions that the 6mm AR T40 would run great with this powder.
I am a bit skeptical because it did not perform well in the 6.5 Grendel before, but we will see.

If it's allowed to post here your barrel lenght, Gas lenght, powder, bullet and velocity of your favorite loads this could help probably a lot of guys.

I have a 26in 6mm Grendel AR +2 gas system also.

I’m in the infant process of load testing.
I’m hoping to run H4895 or Varget (or the shooters world equivalent)

I like to chamber form my brass before the load development begins and fire some rounds down the barrel. I’m heading out Friday to do some chamber forming to get 50 pieces ready for load development. I’ll post results here.

I've got the 243LBC in a bolt rifle and AR, 4895 in the bolt gun and 8208 in the AR all running the 95SMK with wonderful results. 26" bolt barrel like 2950-3000fps and the AR a touch less at 2850fps..... I can get more from either but I'm not a fan of telling folks how fast my bullet missed the plates lol after all a bit slower is just a couple clicks on the turret. I didn't get real great results from RL15 so I didn't chase it very much, I'd point you to the two powders above BUT that's what I've had luck with so your mileage may vary. Received my reamer today so I'll be spinning up another in the next week or so but this will be for a hunting rifle, this little round sure has impressed me!

I changed from 105gr RDF to 95gr SMK.
And now N140 works better without pressure problems.

After this group on 100m I was really happy.

2 groups later:
I almost couldn't believe it after all the problems with the 105gr, pressure issues...
This is around 0,26MOA.

CFE 223 with 105gr RDF had good speed but the groups can't keep up with the 95gr SMK and N140.

are you loading your 105s to mag length? The turbo shooters who i know use the 105/107s for single loading. And to get the velocity they are getting, usually they seem to use small primer brass. One guy i shoot with says he knows how many times his brass have been reloaded by the ejector marks on the case heads. By this, I mean that the people claiming the velocity they are getting have the bullets loaded long and they are pushing the brass hard. This can lead to broken bolts and blown primers.
I believe reloder 15 may work too and being european perhaps you can get it. Not meaning to take the jam out of your donut, but it really doesnt do much more than a 26" .223 will do, but its more hassle. Good luck.

I bought this rifle to shoot the Semi-Auto Open Long Range Class up to 1100m.

Single feeding is not allowed.

No a 223 can't do the same job in Long Range.
Far away.

I will always have slight ejector marks on some brass but I am not willing to have them all the time on every brass.

Second place on 1000m+ (1054m) at the Long Range European Championship in Poland without training on that distance neither sight shots and starting the 10 shots series with cold bore shot.
Those 95gr SMK suprised me.

I love this little Semi-Auto. Can really compete with the Creedmoors...

And shot a 0.739 MOA 10 shot group on 600m in the competition with this great Arto Peurala barrel from Finnland.

(First competition with that rifle and first time shooting the 95gr SMK over 100m )
