6mm AR options

So I have a lower that needs a home.
I’ve been thinking about a 6mm Grendel. Every AR barrel I have is rack grade with the exception of 2 WOA barrels and a compass lake.

The reason I wanted a 6mm Grendel was because I have close to 800 pieces of brass. However, I can’t find anyone who makes a 6mm Grendel barrel.

Any guidance on where to go? OR any other suggestions on a 6mm variant for an AR?

It will be for target shooting and whitetail within the rifle’s ethical range.

Thanks fellas

I thought McGowan, xcaliber and precision firearms made 6 grendel barrels

Deal of the week. I think 1-1/2” at 300 yards would be deadly on white tail. Headshots of course.

Here is my 6AR CUSTOM AR-15 at a steel plate match last month. Shot off of a bipod, 24” Lilja barrel.

My last 5 shots at 547 yards (500m) to win the match.

I used a spray paint can lid for reference, lol.

I won the same match again yesterday with a perfect 60x60. So the rig is working really well.

I purchased a 20" 1:8 twist barrel from McGowan in 6mm Grendel/AR/Predator with which I built an AR Tactical rifle. I am very happy with it. Just checked their website, they still offer that chambering.

Been researching more, and a 243lbc looks like the route I might go. From what I’m seeing, all of these 6mm cartridges are a 6.5 Grendel variant? Is that correct? The 6mmar dies are super expensive, and from what I’m seeing, with the 243 lbc I can use 6.5 Grendel Bushing dies and just use a smaller bushing.

You can use a 6.5 Grendel bushing die on nearly all the various 6mm AR variants if the shoulder angle is the same, for sizing fired brass.

The .243 LBC is basically identical to the 6AR.

The challenge comes when you try to neck down new 6.5 Grendel brass to 6mm. A 6.5 Grendel bushing die may not give you good results. Just depends on the die and brass you use.
