6mm AI Barrel ?

I'm in the process of building a 6mm Ackey . I am going to shoot 105 Berger or 107SMK . I am leaning to a Pac Nor 3 groove barrel 28''-29'' with a 1-8 twist. I have never had 3 groove barrel so I am looking for input .
I have read some of these barrels will also shoot 87 V Max in case I would shoot some coyotes . Thanks

Years ago many believed that the three groove barrels were creating jacket failures with vld bullets i.e. blowups. I'm not sure if people are still experiencing this currently, but if I remember correctly it was specifically with cartridges like the 6-284 and 6mm-06. Might opt for a Kreiger 4 groove to be safe. Something about the big lands of the three groove distorting the thin jacket too much causing blow-ups. The benefit of the three groove was that it had bigger lands thus giving longer barrel life.

I have a few 3 groove 8 twist Pac-Nor's and as long as I don't try to run 80 grain Bergers out of them at over 3850 FPS they work just fine... ;D

I have a Lilja 6mm three groove in 6XC. Very accurate and if anything a bit faster than my Bartlein four groove at the same length. Less friction perhaps?

Thanks to the responses . I think I will try one , do you think # 7 contour 28'' is about right length for a Rem 700 long action ?
Side note I just got my Manners stock MCS T2 with adj cheek LOOKS & FEELS GREAT !
