6mm -30 AR wildcat ?

I am building a wildcat off the 30 AR Remington case . It is 30 AR necked to 6mm with a 37 degree shoulder I think the cc should be about 44 grains of water. I am trying to get a starting load figured out with some 88 grain Bergers. I will be shooting this in a AR15 with a 8 twist Bartlien barrel 26" long . What powders do you think I should start with? Thanks! Mark

Thanks for the reply ! I just looked up the 6mm Hagar and it is using the 30 Remington case which not the same as the 30AR Remington . I think that I should exceed the performance of the 6mm Hagar which has 38000psi cup and the 30AR has 55000 psi cup . 2900fps should be no problem with a 105 grain bullet in my 6mm 30AR . I am quite sure some of the high power shooters have already been looking at the 30AR case and have there wildcats in proggress but are not speaking about it until they get a chance to compete with them first . I am not wanting to compete with mine but wanted a long range varmint rifle in a AR15 platform . Thanks! Mark

Have you compared to the 6mmAR? Lots of info already out there for it. The Turbo version advertises 2850-2900fps with 105s. Great Lapua brass available. Not true for the 30AR.

I had a 6mm AR turbo and sold it to fund this build . I did like the Lapua brass and was very easy to load for . The 30AR brass is also has a small rifle primer and seems to be good . I have been loading it for the 30 AR rifle that I built and it is very accurate with hand loads. I will have the 6mm 30AR built this week and should be able to work up some loads this weekend . The 6mm 30 AR will have more case capacty than the 6mm turbo and should out perform it in the velocty department, it also has a longer neck . My 30AR has a single stack magazine and really feeds smooth so the 6mm 30AR should do the same . Thanks! Mark

I am getting some loads worked up and hope to have a report on the rifle build soon as I can get to the range . I am using Varget powder for the first loads and fire forming . Later ! Mark

Hi Mark, I'm more interested in the 6mm/30AR. What parts did you use to build it?
Bolt?, carrier?, barrel extension?,etc??????????????????????????????????????????.
Can you use a standard lower? Going by case capacity I think 3000fps with a 105 grain bullet is going to be easy,
Jerry, (UK).
