6mm-284 & RL26 anybody

Like the title, has anyone used RL26 in the 6x284 with 105,107, &115's
What kind of velocity were you achieving?
Accuracy good or not?

Appreciate any info

Reloader 25 and berger 105's at 3280. Accuracy 5 shot sub 1/2 moa

I'm working on my 6-284 and I am only "up" to RE22. Doing OK with it. Pleased with RE22...Maybe... Not really happy though. Not many of us shooting this caliber so it's mostly, "try it and find out". Waiting on a new barrel for mine so it'll be back to the bench in a couple of weeks and start all over again.

Thanks man, I see Ramshot Magnum used quite a bit with this cartridge. I suspect RL26 (IF the accuracy is good) this could really turn this round in another 150fps or more. Straight .243 Win pushing 115s at 3110fps
Another member chimed in with his .243 AI and 105's at 3365fps. I know RL26 has been used in 6.5-284 and pumped the velocity up a good 100-150+fps, so I would think it would work real well.

Who has a piloted reamer they would rent out to me? Would need nk and throat measurements too

In my personal situation, you could use Hodgdon's data for a 107 with Retumbo to start and draw your own conclusions from there. I don't think you'll find any officially published data.

Not sure about RL-26 because I don't shoot cases with that much capacity, but RL-17 has given me and extra 5% velocity with excellent accuracy and barrel life in the 6BR and 6Dasher using the the same advanced chemical technology.

retumbo was only thing that works in mine...

For max velocity, I would think that with such an extreme overbore, RL-26 would be the fastest powder I would try. RL-26, H1000, Retumbo and maybe even RL-33! But for certain RL-26, H1000 and Retumbo would work excellent!

I was using RL-22 and H-1000 in my 6-284 with 8 twist barrels. It would blow up Berger 105's (15 years ago) regularly so I mostly shot 107SMK and had plans to shoot 115 DTAC's. My best accuracy was with H-1000. I have also tried H50BMG but it was quite a bit slower, as was AA8700 which was also filthy dirty.

I have a 22-284. It shoots 80 gr Bergers at 3600 fps. Try some R25 or N570. Works good in the 22-284.
