6mm 250 imp

You may have issue with the smaller base diameter of the 250, if the other dimensions happened to work out.

6XC or 22-250 may work. Again, depending on the chamber.

I think your best bet is to neck some brass to 6mm, adjust the neck/shoulder so it fits your chamber, then load and shoot it.

Hunter class shooter’s did some 250 to 6 mm, I think they called it a 6 HLS, It made the case capacity rules of HBR Back in the day !

I fooled with this cartridge 3 or 4 years, wound up pushing reamer in an extra .020 can load and shoot 6cm brass full charge first time. Run it through your sizing die first works good. Gives a case with more capacity than the 6cm

IF, your Barrel is still, "Good",..
Have your Gunsmith, set the Barrel back, a Thread and Re-Ream it to, the 6 XC ( Tubb, Version, One ) , Buy Norma or, Peterson Brass, use regular, 6XC Dies from Forster,.. EZ- Peasey, NO, "Head ache's", awesome, Accuracy !

I am thinking Ackley but can't swear to it. I will have my gunsmith check it. I was thinking 6mm CM.
What makes you think that's what it is. Does it say so on the barrel? Or are you going by some brass that came with the gun, which makes it real easy. And you want to know the neck diameter too. For 6-250 brass I have PMC 22-250 necked up, and 250 Savage lightly neckturned and necked down. They both work beautifully. And for an Ackley version fireforming would be just blowing the shoulders out, very easy.
