I am thinking Ackley but can't swear to it. I will have my gunsmith check it. I was thinking 6mm CM.Depends on what "improvement" you're talking about and how the chamber is set up.
I fooled with this cartridge 3 or 4 years, wound up pushing reamer in an extra .020 can load and shoot 6cm brass full charge first time. Run it through your sizing die first works good. Gives a case with more capacity than the 6cmHunter class shooter’s did some 250 to 6 mm, I think they called it a 6 HLS, It made the case capacity rules of HBR Back in the day !
That's,020 over a 22-250 go gaugeI fooled with this cartridge 3 or 4 years, wound up pushing reamer in an extra .020 can load and shoot 6cm brass full charge first time. Run it through your sizing die first works good. Gives a case with more capacity than the 6cm
What makes you think that's what it is. Does it say so on the barrel? Or are you going by some brass that came with the gun, which makes it real easy. And you want to know the neck diameter too. For 6-250 brass I have PMC 22-250 necked up, and 250 Savage lightly neckturned and necked down. They both work beautifully. And for an Ackley version fireforming would be just blowing the shoulders out, very easy.I am thinking Ackley but can't swear to it. I will have my gunsmith check it. I was thinking 6mm CM.
