6mm-223 and 100 gr. bullets?

8/22/07--Wednesday

Hello,

Need help. Having a 6x45mm, 1:8 built on a mini-14 ranch platform. Has anyone tried 100 grain .243 bullets such as the Sierra Pro Hunter or GameKing? Hodgdon's load site lists their light load of 21.5-23.0 gr. of H335 behind 100s in 6x45 brass. Haven't bought the powder or bullets and thought to not reinvent the wheel if someone has checked this load out.

Appreciate very much any thoughts/experiences. :)

A tech, Dave, from Sierra bullets emailed some loads for up to 90 gr. bullets with a COL of 2.260 inches!

The original mini 14 magazines look to accept a COL of 2.300 inches.

Said trajectories can be found at www.exteriorballistics.com

Also that can load 100 gr. as well but to watch for signs of excessive pressure.

Also, Chris at this website emailed that he starts low with 21 gr. and works up loads in .5 gr. increments until seeing pressure signs. And that his 6x45mm gives the best groups with medium loads ... :D :D :D :D
