Way overbore, high bbl wear, not much to gain over 25-06 but bulet selection.

I shoot a version of one of these in a hunting rifle. I shoot the 105 A-max at 3,250 fps. Amazine deer cartridge, and great long range coyote round. As for being overbore.... well... We get a good 2,500 rounds out of ours out of premium barrels before you ever notice accuracy failing, and running at the speeds above 3,000 rounds is attainable for hunting accuracy. I expect mine to hold 1/2 MOA for the 2,500 then I'll be expecting to put a new barrel on at any time.

I'm a fan of all cartridges, but this bar far is one of my favorite hunting rounds for small to deer size game.

As far as a target round, I wouldn't hesitate to use it if I were into something different in the 6mm. It would be a neat 600-1,000 yard cartridge. I would keep an eye on accuracy after 2,000 rounds in a target rifle.

Not an AI, but just a 6mm-06. Accurate, easy to load for, easy to find brass, vast bullet selection. That is the good news.

Bad news is that it'll take a long action, and by the time you've got a load worked up the barrel is going away. I'd imagine it'd go a bit quicker if it was an AI and you had to spend much time fireforming. The one I had didn't make it to 1000 rounds..... if I remember right it didn't make it to 850.

It is sort of like a roller coaster..... a lot of fun if you're careful but it don't last long. WD

I have one its just a standard 6mm-06 tight neck .269, i used nolser custom brass and neck turn. I run the berger 6mm 105gr hunting VLDs out of mine with H1000 and Fed 215gm. mines a 26in lilja 1-8 twist 6groove barrel. I am running a pretty light load at 3045fps but its really accurate and has done well on antelope and mule deer.

I donot have the imp., but have a6-06 that I have played with very little, but also have a pair of 6- 284`s, balistically identical to 6-06, that I have played with a lot. If you build one put nothing slower than a 1 in 8 twist, I think a 1 in 7 1/2 would be better. You don`t want to shoot too many shots without letting the barrel cool.
