My brain is stirring and i am thinking about a 6dasher for a coyote hunting rifle. I have the action and a blank and stock. I need to decide now how short i can go with the barrel and still get the velocity i need to make this all work properly. I would like to go 20-21' so it will be compact and handy rig. Whats your thoughts on barrel length with the dasher? You may be wondering why i am thinking of the dasher for a coyote rifle so i will tell you why i am thinking of doing this. My f-class rifle will be a 8 twist dasher so if i used the same reamer on this coyote rig i could use this to fire form my brass while i cut a few dog in half. I just love this chambering i guess so that is another factor. Lee

I have a 23 in. 14 twist that works fine in the PD fields. It was a 40-x 6 BR and I rechambered it to 6 Dasher. I believe I get 3550 fps with 70 NOS BT's.

There is an article in the bulletin that discusses the impact of barrel length for the 6BR. The same result should apply for the Dasher as far as the delta is concerned.
