Anyone have any firsthand experience with 105gr bullets and N150? Load data? Thanks,RKJ

I tried it in one of my Dashers>>>it did not work. It is funny though, as VV N150 may very well be the best powder for 105 class bullets in the straight 6BR.. Being the same basic case, you would think it would work great>>and it might in someone else's Dasher, just not in mine..

I haven't used it in 6BR or Dasher, but it's far and away my favorite powder in my .308. Burns really clean too!

ShootDots,

Just curious, did the N150 put a couple together then zing one or two out of the group? I shoot 30.4 in my 6BR but as soon as I try to hot it up a bit it's not happy. The same thing happened to me with the 308, not very happy with hot loads.

What loads were you shooting with the Dasher?

In the 6mmBR, I remember starting out at 29.6 and worked up in 0.2grs at a time. I remember too that when I went UP past 30.4 to 30.6 the groups opened up. But at 30.4grs it was awesome. With the 6 Dasher, I went from 32.0grs in 0.2gr increments to 33.2 and it NEVER shot good with either Hybrids, the 108 B/T's or VLD's. It would put 2 or 3 in one hole, then 2-3 out to the wild blue yonder. I went to RL-15 with no better results. Then I tried Varget and it shot pretty well. I used it for several matches but was never R-E-A-L-L-Y satisfied with the performance. I could clean targets at 600 BUT my "X" count was not at a "winnable" level. So I tried the Berger 105 VLD and VV N540 and all of a sudden it turned on! I shot my first and only match SO FAR with that load and I shot a 599-43. It is the BEST load so far I have seen in ANY of my rifles.

I would say that our results are mirroring each other with 150. Above 30.4 in my Bartlien 30" 8 tw. there was never any hope. I did expect there to be a lower velocity node with the Dasher/BRX but apparently not.

Thanks for your info.

Thanks for the input, the N150 does not sound like it may hold much success. I will try it anyway since I have a fair amount.
