6Dasher 2nd round tests

Here is the second round of testing with the charges that looked the most promising. There are also some seating depth changes for each load. 2.810 is the length of the bullet to the ogive when touching rifling. I tried some jump and some jam for each and those number are under the powder charge. The outside temp went form 82 when I started to 88 when I started the last round of shots. I think 32.5 is where I need to be but any help would be appreciated. Seems like if I use that with a little jam or jump they have about the same poi. It would be tolerant of powder and depth. That is assuming that I read it right. I also am thinking that the reason reason they are not grouping any better is because of me and my setup. They are all in the 1/2 inch range with the best one in the 2's and the worst one in the 6's. I think the gun is out shooting me. What you guys think?

I believe you will be more able establish a go-to load testing at 200 or even 300yards with that bullet. You have a good start on it.

if you shoot 105 hybrids ive found you can go up to 33.2 with good accuracy with bullet jumped & the rest of your load/ usually having to back up on load with vld bullet to where your are now in mine of course since barrels arent created equal good shootin regards shooter63

32.6 is what my Varget load with 105 Hybreds came out to be. It worked out to be .3 gr. less than with the 107 SMK bullets that did so well for me .

Seating depth was not critical for me.

The gun has excessive free bore. Or your measure meant is off. I will buy 1.810 . Dam I hate it when I do the same thing. Good Shooting Larry

32.1 to 32.6 is what most dasher like .You can get as much as 40' difference from one lot to another. I had one 8 lb can that just wouldn't shoot. I have two more of the same lot and the third from a different lot. that shot good. So I put all three in a 5 gallon bucked and mixed them.
In my playing I tried H 4350 that worked better for me then varget. So now I have 24lb of varget and cant find H4350. Good Shooting Larry

If I am reading things correctly, it looks like the biggest jump tried is .010". Try more than that, a LOT more, like .020-.040". Just my experience with a handful of different rifles, but I've found Berger VLD bullets to either like a lot of jam or a lot of jump, and none of this close to the lands by 5 or 10 thou kind of stuff. YMMV.
