6CM

Shooting my 6CM I finished the 600 yard aggregate in 3rd place. While that in it self is not news. The fact that my 6CM finished the matches with 4,370 through the barrel and finished the matches with a 2nd place 200-13X in the Crowell trophy says something about the barrel life I'm getting from the 6CM.

I did have the chamber recut 1022 rounds ago. However, I did this only becuse it made me feel better.

This is just some information for you 6mm guys to think about.

115's at 3150+ FPS, 243 sized cartridge.

Joe

Good shooting Joe. I just screwed Jim Berry's barrel on last week and it show's to be promising. When I got it from him it had 17 rounds down it, now it has 117. I'm gonna give you a call, I've got a couple of questions for you.

Dang Joe, 'you still shooting that good with that worn out old barrel? ;D LOL Only a 6CM could do that. Nice shooting. 3rd in the aggregate aint too shabby now. 2nd in the Crowell isn't either. Nice shootin'. Watch out Joe I think Donnie is trying to own as many 6CM barrels as you. I do know one thing, Donnie is your best salesman at least in Florida. Shoot Strait- jim

Robert,

Do you know what the case capacity of the 6 CM is? It appears more like a 243 AI with the shoulder blown forward as it is.

Bob

This has already been covered ??? so sorry for repeating things.

Is the case formed by shooting 243 brass in a 6CM chambered gun?.

That is correct. If you do a search on here for the 6CM you'll find just about all the info you want. There may be a few questions you may have, I did. This is as good of a 6mm round as it gets.

I can honestly say that building a 6CM was one of the best decisions I've made. Joe really helps anyone that wants information on this round. Just wish my skill were on par with how good this round is. Shoot Strait teele1

wow,the more I read about the 6cm the more I cannot wait to have one built.I have a little older 223 that will be a 6CM when the funds are big enough for the build.

and great shooting Joe.really like to read about what you and your rifel are able to accomplish.

The 6CM is a 6.5 Creedmoor necked down right?

I've been running a 6.5 Creedmoor for over a year now and always thought it'd be a good one to be necked down to 6MM.

Isn't the 6CM nearly identical to the 6XC in dimensions and performance?

That's some impressive velocity with a 115.

Nope. It is a 243 with a 30-ish degree shoulder and minimal body taper.

It likes slow powders like H1000 so you dont have to run high pressures to get good velocities.

Mine worked well for me at this years Steel Safari. http://demigodllc.com/articles/steel-safari-2010/?p=6

The shell game got me there, I can see now in Robert's picture that it's the same length as the .243 where the Creedmoor's shorter, it has the same 30 degree shoulder though and appears to be close to the same taper (.004" each side) as the Creedmoor.

What's water capacity on the 6CM?

Thanks,

Wayne

I set the barrel back 1". As it turns out I probably didn't have to do it that much. I wanted all new threads.
