I just had a new 30" Brux 6mm 1:7.5" twist barrel done up for my MAK repeater tube gun with Joe Hendricks 6CM cartridge. I have to say, I'm impressed. It's a real easy cartridge to work with. I loaded up 22 rounds of Winchester 243 Win brass with 47 gr of H1000, stuck a Sierra 107 on top at 2.800",about .025" jump) and took them out to fire form them. Fire forming is a cinch, just stick them in the rifle and shoot them as you normally would. For highpower competition, clearly you could shoot fire forming loads at 200 and 300 yards no problem. It was very cold at the range, and by the end I could not feel what my fingers were touching, including the trigger. Anyway, I shot two shots slow prone at an MR-31 target at 100 yards to get a zero. With no zero, the first shot was about 6" high and 6" to the left, and I lucked out cranking the knobs on my sights and the second shot was and x. I then shot the other 20 slow prone at a different MR-31 target right next to it, and when the snow settled a 200/15x was sitting there with fire forming loads, 18 of the shots went into a group about the size of a quarter, even with pulse and body movement included). So far so good! It will be good when it's a little warmer - I froze out there, but with a new barrel to try out I just could not resist.
