6BRX X-Caliber Accuracy

I've been shooting the Savage 6BR in 600 yard competition for about five years now, and last year I had my gunsmith rechamber a 6BR barrel to a Dasher. I worked with it a while, and I'm sure things would have worked out if I'd pursued it. But in May of last year I ordered a 6BRX barrel from X-Caliber, and I have to say that it's made a big difference in my shooting.

I've got about 350 rounds through the 28" 1-in-7 twist barrel, and here I was shooting the Berger 105gr Hybrid over 33gr of Varget with Lapua brass and CCI450 primers. I only came in 2nd in our monthly club match, since I dropped 8 points in one of the relays. However, I thought I'd pass these two targets along.

I'm certainly not knocking other companies' barrels, but I ordered another one like this from X-Caliber last week.

Did you buy that barrel already chambered from X Caliber ? Hard to complain about those targets for a barrel that's half the cost of the big name barrel makers out there. Some say you get what you pay for. I say you got alot more than what you paid for.

nice.work mate ..im loving my 6BRX also. using the same 105gr hybrids and cc 450, but I'm running 32.4gr of varget and I been getting a heap of 4 round groups at 1.3inches at 500m/547y but 5th shot has has been killing me ..out to 1.7 inch to 2.5 inches . still trying.to sort seating depth. barrel only done 330 rounds

Pretty much been my experience with X-caliber as well. Whoever does the chambering up there doesn't get enough credit.

I have a prefit X-caliber 6BRX barrel 30" with 8 twist on a Savage Model 12 bench rest. Best load I found is 32.2gr of Reloader 15, Sierra 107 MK with CCI 450. Our range is capped at 300 yards so we came up with a 300 yard reduction of the 600 yard IBS target. Here's a 5 shot group at 300 from my 6BRX.

Very nice shooting...thanks for posting.

I ordered another X-caliber 6BRX barrel two weeks ago...they had a 30" 1-8 in stock, but I want the 1-7.

For our 300 yard matches we use IBS 300 yard target in a couple of formats. I really do like the 600 yard reduction idea.....great 10 ring, X etcetc.....how did y'all do that?
