6BRX w/ 115DTAC?

Anyone ever try this? I saw where the 117gr. was tried. How was vel and accuracy? What was twist and bbl length?

I have a BRX,NRA Prone LR Rifle) and have not tried a 115 DTAC in a BRX. My velocity results with 105-107 gr bullets tells me that there would be no ballistic advantage running the heavier bullet slower.

That said, there are those who report much higher velocities with their BRXs that I get,105 Berger at 3030fps) and perhaps they can drive the heavier bullet to an advantage.

My larger 6MM drives the DTAC at 3025 fps and it shoots very well out to 1K. That rifle has a 7.5 twist bbl.

Some have shot the DTAC in an 8 twist but it is hit or miss whether it works,stabilizes).

Personally, I would leave the DTACs for a larger cartridge.

Thats kind of what I was thinking until I saw 'Duke Duke's' write up on 6brx w/ 117gr dtac's & RL17. If he got the 117's to 3000fps w/ no real pressure signs, 115's should be able to do that- accuracy would obviously be the greatest concern, but 3000fps w/ a 115DTAC puts the 6BRX in the next click up in performance at 1000yds.
