6brx to 6 dasher

Can you just run a 6 dasher reamer thru a barrel chambered as a 6 BRX or do you need to cut/setback and start fresh?

I have some brx barrels for my panda but want to chamber them as a dasher and was not sure if I will loose barrel length or if the reamer can be pushed thru without affecting the length.

Thanks

You would have to set it back some. The neck shoulder junction is farther forward on the brx so the dasher reamer would not reach that point...roughly .030 short.

I prefer the longer neck of the dasher. Plus the light at the end of the tunnel indicates factory dasher brass may be available soon.

If you want to interchange brass between barrels then I would set it back the length of the Dasher neck +.010" to make sure you get a full cleanup on the neck from Dasher reamer.

I've had a few dashers. I just came across the brx, shot about 200 rds and did not notice any difference from the dasher other than a smaller neck.

Dasher makes more sense. Way back when, the issue was finding dies or components but that is not the case anymore or in the last 7 yrs.

Dasher all the way. If and when there is factory dasher brass all will start switching over!

It is way more fun to think I had some influence on your decision, now I will just have to face the reality. I just got finished making a hydroforming die, you can come by and pound on it for a while if ya want. I use the Wickenberg kids to fire form my brass for me but am going to try the hydro forming method with dasher and Shehane.

Well, let me just ship some brass to you and you can pound away.... and get the work week frustrations out of the system. ;D

Hydo forming Dasher brass, it all comes up too short. It needs to be at least 1.550 -1.553 formed……… jim
