6BRX load data with 105s

I know I should be able to find more using the search, but I'm having almost zero luck. What are the preferred loads with the 105s (Bergers and Amax)? Or, could somebody point me to some good posts with that info?

Thanks,

Dan

Of course you know the disclaimers about starting low and working up.

30" Bartline 8T bbl - .272" no turn neck with .104 freebore

105 Berger - .020" INTO the lands Very low neck tension.

Wolf Small Rifle Mag Primers

33.5 gr of RL15 = 3050 fps

105 Berger - .020" INTO the lands Very Low Neck tension

Wolf Small Rifle Mag Primers

33.5 gr of Varget = 3020 fps

Those are two very good loads in my rifle.

Dan,

just do a ladder test with whatever bullet and powder combo you want to use. I know ARC only has a 200 yd. range but we shoot over at my place about once or twice a month, I'll send you an email next time we shoot and maybe you can ride with Pharr. We can do a ladder test out to 300-500 yds. And I bet you will have a good load. I would go with H4350, it shot really good in my BRX.

SWGLENN,

So far I am into 5-6 loadings on my Lapua cases. No loose pockets yet.

I do have to say that I have a .062" firing pin in my bolt that I believe helps to keep from blanking primers. It was a good mod and worth the money.

I tried out 5-6 loads with 105 Bergers yesterday. 33.6 Varget for all. They ranged from .020 off the lands to .020 in the lands. .020 gave me .9" groups at 200 yards was was the best group by far. All the groups loaded at or into the lands showed ejector marks on the cases. MV was better but small signs of "hotness" I have a .271 neck and I was trying out a 267 bushing as well.

Funny thing was the best group I ever shot was .060 in the lands and 33.9g Varget. .071. Unfortunately the bolt required some serious torque to open and the primer pockets were large primer size :D

Limbic,

Loosen up on your neck tension if you can. I use a .268 or .269 bushing.

Lighten the powder just a bit when jamming .020" and see what happens. .9 at 200 is good.

I run, 32.5 Varget in my rifles with molycoated Berger 105 VLD's soft seated into the lands, usually gives about .5 groups at 200, velocity's run in the mid 2900's
