6brx barrel life?

What is the expected barrel life compared to the standard 6br?

I had read the 6br is between 2500-3000 is that correct?

I only shoot fclass, in case that comes up.

I think there was a test done here a good while back and 2500 was about the life of a plain 6BR.

Not a BRX but I had a dasher set up in a krieger barrel and shooting 105 bergers needed a rechamber between 500-800 shots. This is shooting string fire 2x sighters and 10 shots for score in f class. That was using H4895 at 31.8gr and 3030fps. The barrel probably would have lasted around 1500 accurate rounds Im guessing.

All depends on your accuracy standards, but 1500-2000 for F-class is what I'd say....about the same as any other high-intensity 6mm cartridge (Dasher, 6XC, 243WIN, etc)

I have a Bartlein straight 1.25 barrel with 1075 rounds down the tube. Varget (32.8 grains) and 105 hybrids have been used (except for fire-forming brass) since it was screwed on the action. It was just scoped with a Hawkeye bore scope yesterday and has very little alligator skin at this point. My guess is there is at least another 800 rounds of life left. I jump the bullets about .0015, which has changed the seating depth over the course of use.

Premium grade barrels not pushed over 3080 fps generally last 2800-3600 rounds.

All the BRX barrels I have had like to run 2975 f/s with Berger 105 VLD. Barrels last 2500 rds. and better. long range benchrest accuracy. When I shot the IBS LG record in 2007 0.749" my barrel had over 2500 round on it.

I would say flip a coin...whichever one ends up getting the better barrel...

Like 22DASHER said flip a coin. Both will give you the same speed. There are more Dashers out there, but I'm not changing. BRX for me. Both are great rounds.
