I used to do set backs. I took out the throat on a brand new 22-250 ai reamer setting back a barrel. Dulled the throat part of the reamer and had to send it back and wait 8 weeks for a regrind at the cost of $165. Now I dont do set backs unless a barrel is like new inside. And if its reamer that has records on it, no set backs on that one no matter what.
The steel gets harder and carbon deposits. MattWhat do you suppose caused the dulling?
