6BRA Fireforming 1000 yards

Went to range yesterday Fireforming some New Peterson Brass, Rem 7 1/2, H-4895, Barts 105 Grain Gungnirs, I have a 31"Heavy Palma, .2714 neck,.104 freebore , loaded some 5X fired lapua,28.8 H-4895 got 2869 fps SD-1, ES 2, on once fired cases I get 2920 fps with Peterson,H-4895 & Barts Gungnirs, Anything above 29 grains ,I start to get Stiff Bolt lift, Would like to Get Higher velocity, Any Suggestions on How to,was thinking about turning necks to see if that helps,Can't complain 29 grains in lapua or peterson brass shoot good, It is mainly for 800-1000+ yards. Last picture is @ 800 yards with the 2869 fps Loads. Loaded rounds are .267, fired cases .2714-5, 1.555 length, 1.156 headspace on Whiddengage. These were with a Savage SA off a Bipod

29 grains in Peterson brass to fireform is stiff….I shoot 4895 in my Peterson brass also,,,after fireform I load 29.8 and shoots at 2985 with no stiff bolt

Due to the weight difference between the Lapua and Peterson brass it is very difficult to load the same charge in the Peterson as Lapua. My 100 pc. lot of 6BR Peterson brass weighs10 grains more than my 100 pc. lot of Lapua.

Any powders out there Faster than H-4895 for 6 BRA

It isn't always the powder. I was able to get 3020fps speeds out of a 6 BRA with 28" barrel and 30.48gr of H4895 with no heavy bolt lift or signs of pressure. Some barrels shoot faster than others. That was in both Lapua and Alpha brass.

Good SD and ES, good accuracy. Quite worrying about velocity. You can't shoot thru the wind you must learn to coexist with it. Refine your set up and tracking and never shoot without flags. The big lie....The wind is your friend. The truth.... Flags are your friend. Velocity is a bi product not the goal.

What bullet are you shooting? Recently did a ladder with Lapua brass, H4895 and VT 103s. I went up to
31.4 gr getting 3060fps with no pressure signs. Krieger .237 bore, 8 twist
