6BR

Trying something a bit new. I have been shooting the 107 SMK with 1:8 twist. Shooting pretty good. Bought some 105 Bergers. I have no load data on them. Any help, suggestions?

Many Thanks, Laura

Laura,
We need to know a little more about your rifle, current load, barrel length ect. If you have an accurate load for the 107 SMK's chances are it will work with the 105 Berger VLD's with just a little twinking. Both my 6BR nd 6BRX like the Bergers jammed .015.

Good shooting, Jim

Laura,
If you haven't already try the home page. click on the 6br page on the home page of this site. It has a lot of data that you can learn from. Don't start with the loads that are shown on the 6br page. They are all great loads, but never start there. Every chamber and barrel are different. If you pick a load from the 6br page reduce the load 10% and work up to it.

I had problems with the 105 VLD until I read about seating into the lands between .015 and .025 . I had been seating at .010 and was not happy with the results. I wasted a whole box , adjusting the powder charge to no avail. The thought of .025 into the lands was a little uncomfortable for me, so I split the difference and went to .020. Wow, what a difference. I only load to 28.5 Varget with MV 2771 fps, but It shoots really well. I will play with the powder charge and try for more MV latter.
