6BR velocities with 68 gr Wilcat & VV 135

Was out at the range today. Finally got some VV powder that I could try some of Richard Graves 68gr Wildcat bullets. Wondering what the thoughts are on the achieved velocities.

32.5grs VV 135 3429 fps
32.6grs VV 135 3428 fps

Temp outside was -2 deg celcius,28.5 deg farenheit)

This is out of a 26.5" tube with a 10 twist on a Rem 700 action.

There were no real signs of pressure on the cases and bolt lift was not unusually hard. I did not try the next 2 loads up as I was not sure but I thought I was getting on the high end of the scale.

Any input would be helpful.

Calvin, I shoot Barts 68gr f.b. in a 24" shilen,1-14",lapua brass, bullet seated .015 in the lands.Your loads seem right with mine.I shoot between 32.6-33.1 grs of 135 and get into the 3400-3420fps range with EXCELLENT accuracy. chris, iowa

Those velocity figures sound pretty much right on. I use a 12 twist, 31.5gr of n135 and a 68gr Fowler in the lands. Out of my 21 inch 10.5 lb sporter, I get 3324-3340. When I was developing loads, my top end was 32.8gr. Bolt lift very sticky at that charge, but it did shoot well. The 31.5gr load shot best of all when comparing charges from 29 to 32.8gr.
