Have a switch barrel Eliseo tube gun with 8 twist 6BR and 6Dasher and just got a good used 6PPC 14 twist and was thinking about making it a 6BR just for light weight bullets and run them fast. Strictly fun gun. What would be the best reamer for this? My others have .130FB for the 105-108class.

Zero free bore for 68 grain bullets in a 1 in 14" twist 6BR. The 6BR neck is approx .040" longer than a 6PPC.

I have a 14 twist 6BR done with a .050 free bore reamer I bought from PTG and I wish I had done a 0 free bore because on the lighter bullets like 55 grain there isn't much bullet in the case. Have since bought a 0 free bore reamer that I will use on all my future builds and just use a throat and neck reamer for the appropriate bullet.

I just happen to have a PTG .268 Neck, Zero Free Bore 1/30 lead. Bob White used it to chamber two barrels for me.
I have had them L O N G maybe too long and they shot well..Bob hooked me up with a .296NK zero freebore and I loved it.
I ordered this one .268 Neck and I miss my .269 I just had the bushing neck tension perfect..So I wish I would Have just stayed with it. So I would sell this one if some one want it.. I don't even know $125.00 shipped sound OK..

Yep what he said..Or like a Berger Column or real good shooting 66 gr'ers 0 or if you must maybe .020

I agree with you guys get the freebore to match the bullet you plan to shoot. I wasn't really thinking about the 55s when I shared my opinion
If you plan to shoot them then a zero would be the way to go
I don't shoot anything lighter than a 65

I have a 0 freebore 6mm dasher reamer, the 55 nosler bt is only half way down in the case at touch. With a .050" freebore you could not use a 55 nosler. Those little bullets seem to like to be in the lands. I would definately go zero fb.

I had a 6BR 14 Twist Shilen barrel I kind of think now it must have been a 3/4 lead..the Smith swore it was a short throat but he said it had a shallow lead..man it was long .262NK a old Berger 70 gr MEF was in half the neck touching.
A 65 V -max was almost out of the case ...So I just seated them in the neck where I liked em to be and shot it..Wow did it shoot..I guess ta mated some were jumping .130" but it still shot good. Shot a few .199's with them 70 GR MEF's never did it shoot bigger than a .250 back in them days we had a lot of Ground Hogs and we hunted them all the time.
But how that Rife came to be was I had a buddy that had a Heavy Barreled Savage 22/250 that shot bug holes and I even had a sako 22ppc and it was tough to out shoot him So I went in to the best smith we knew and said Randy I need you to build me a rifle that can out shoot this boys savage..He said ah mighty tall order,i heard about it..why don't you let me built you a 6BR...I said I don't care as long as it can out shoot that savage...so he did and it did out shoot that savage..as a matter of fact it out shot everything at our local range to the place where no one wanted to come out and shoot with it any more..lol...

All those light bullets like to touch or slight jam the lands. Zero freebore with bullets from 55-65g rock in a 14T, and the 69g Berger in a 12 twist. 70g Noslers, 70g TNT also do real well in a o freebore.

I have a zero freebore 6 BRX, glory, what a shooter.

I just did the same thing with a PPC barrel. Have not developed loads yet. Reckon what kind of accuracy we can expect at 100/200?

Recent acquisition from a member is a PPC barre in great shapel. Already have 6 Dasher, and 6 BR 8 twists for my rifle but wanted something for close in and critters so a good used PPC in same HV profile seemed like a good choice for light bullets. Still need to get a reamer though.
