6BR resized-bright ring below shoulder??

I am a new reloader-first batch of 6br loads!

I am using Forster 6BR Rem Fl sizing dies and Lapua brass.
After resizing I noticed a bright ring just below the shoulder. It is a small ring around the circumference of the case, It almost looks like a pass with a neck turner. Just a very small amount of brass was shaved off in a complete circle. I set the die up to touch the shellholder when the ram was full up.

What may have caused this and is it a problem to shoot?
Do I need to set the die up differently?
Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks for providing the photo. In the photo it looks like there just may be a tight spot right behind the shoulder. This can be caused by a lot of things--could be a flaw in the chambering that allowed your brass to expand too much, or it could be a high spot left in the die.

Inspect the die to see if there is a ridge right below the shoulder. If you can't see anything visually, try running a piece of dowel in there and see if you can feel anything.

Regarding the neck--are you using a conventional full-length die,no bushings)? If so, this reduces the neck diameter more than you need if you are running a no-turn neck. What is the neck diameter of a loaded round, and what is the diameter of the neck after it comes out of the sizing die. You may be scraping the neck a bit as it enters the neck portion of the die. Also inspect the die to make sure there are no burrs. You should also be sure to chamfer the inside and outside of the mouth of the neck.

You may have to adjust the die up or down. If you get a .45 acp case, make sure it is round, not dented) and remove the primer, you can use this with your calipers to see how much the shoulder has been "bumped" during sizing. You normally want to move the shoulder only .001-.002."

Rock:
Did you look at the Die closely, from the picture it appears that that die needs to be carefully looked at. You are also shoving the shoulder back far to far. BE CAREFUL with that process.

I felt in the die with a toothpick and right before the shoulder area there is an indentation. It doesn't go smoothly on the same level all the way from the body through the shoulder

Sounds like the die might be the problem. New or old? Might be worth sending it back to get the problem corrected. JMO. Mike.

Mike,
The die is brand new. First time it has been used.
I sent the pic to Forster via e-mail, I'll see what they say.

Rock: I use RCBS and have had a few "minor" problems. I had a piece of brass stuck to the side wall on one of my "Compitition FL sizer dies and it was marking my brass. I sent it to them and asked them to see if they could get the piece off that was stuck to the die. They didn't even touch it. They just sent me a new one!! And this die was "well used"!!
I would bet that if you sent the die back to the mfg. that they would replace it or get it repaired to your satisfaction.
They like to keep us shooters happy. Probably because we "talk" at the range!;)

Mike,
I'll take your advice and send it to Forster.I will also send them some cases. That is the easiest and best solution.
Thanks

I sent Forster the pics and they said to send the die wtih a couple of pieces of new brass as wellas the brass I resized and they will make sure the die fits my brass correctly-or give me a brand new one to my brass specs if required.

Forster is going to polish the inside of the dies as well as the expander ball.
They said there was a rough spot inside of the die. But the brass I with the rings are properly sized and not pushed back to far. Just a little brass was shaved off due to the high spot.
I will be getting the die back in a couple of days

Buy a bump gauge and a cheap digital caliper. I bought a caliper at Harbor Freight it's good enough to measure bump for most of us.
