I will be receiving a few 95gr bullets to test and am looking for a recipe for Varget in a 6BR.

I tested as high as 31.6 (3060FPS) with 95VLD-Hs on a .236 BRUX/0.055FB/BRM but wouldn't choose to operate there full time.
I experienced sticky bolt lift, cratering and no vertical consistency between groups separated by 0.1 grains.
My very best groups (dead flat vertical at 200 yards, sub 0.2MOA) were from 29.5-30.3 (2860-2940FPS) but I understand many will want to find a higher node.

Thank you! The replies are very helpful.

I had forgotten about the info on loads in the first link.

I had looked at the favorite loads but found only one there.

I haven't considered other powders as the 95gr is a proof of concept test bullet. I have a bunch of Varget and was looking for a place to start. If it is successful I expect to use a 105ish grain version of that bullet.

As to 8208 and 4895, I encounter a wide range of temperatures over the course of a season, 40's to 110's degrees F (5 to 45 C) ambient. Temperature sensitivity is a significant consideration for me.

My understanding is that of the powders suitable for 6BR and 105gr class bullets, Varget is the best choice when considering potential accuracy and lowest temperature sensitivity.

8208 was developed for 6PPC and light, 60 to 70 grain bullets so I would think it to be a bit on the 'fast' side for a 107 and 6BR.

I talked to Lou Murdica today. His response was that 8208 not really the right powder for a 107 in a 6BR, too fast.

I tried a box of the 95g TMK. 31.5 Varget, BR-4 primers, jumped .070" shot very well, .5MOA or better at 200 yards. Savage PTA and PacNor 7.5t.

What velocity did you get?
I never tested. my favorite bullet is the 90g Berger BT target but hated the price so tried 100 of the TMKs. I never even worked up a load just guessing at 31.5 Varget to do a seating depth test. I was really surprised at how well they shot jumping .070". I would have definitely bought more when my Bergers ran out but then Bullets.com was closing out the Bergers for almost $80 less/thousand than usual so I picked up their last 2 thousand count boxes.
