6br question

I have a 6br .262 neck diameter 14 twist rifle now & am thinking of getting one made to shoot heavy bullets 100+grs. What are you guys opinion on the neck diameter for shooting heavy bullets. Use a .262 or something a little thicker or go with a noturn neck?

NO TURN 0.272'. I just had my 0.262' neck opened to 0.272'. I have one 0.269' 8tw left, I can't tell any difference with the tight neck.

.272' neck dia, 1-8' twist and 28' length. With a 8' twist you can shoot 105 VLD's and lighter bullets if you decide to so. I have chambered tight neck cartridges for years and am just now switching to all .272' neck diameters. I don't think I'm giving anything up to the tight necks and am reducing time spent on prepping brass and issues resulting from turning necks like scuffed necks from turning mandrels etc.

Have 4 chamberings in 6BR: 2 with .265' tight fitted necks requiring turning, and 2 with .272' no-turn necks. Have shot them side-by-side, and compared 5 shot groups at 200 & 300 yds. Cannot find any meaningful difference between them. Doubt I'll ever have another done that requires outside neck turning. Just my opinion/ works for me.
