6BR question Rem vs. others

I have a reamer coming in 6BR, but not sure which one it is as it is a used one.

My question is will I be able to load and shoot Lapua brass if its a Remington design? I have not been able to find the dimensions listed for the Remington chamber to check it out yet. I want to build a shooter, not necessarily a 600 yard gun. I see that the Norma/Lapua has a slightly larger base, but have not seen the Remington dimensions to see the difference. It looks as though the neck is around .009" longer so if its a Remington I should be able to trim the Lapua to shoot in a Rem chamber.

Thanks in advance!

Never buy a reamer if you dont know exactly what its dims are....throat-nek dia.-dim at .200 line--all are critical to not only the ctg cases fitting the chamber ...but the dies available to day are almost all the newer "Norma" dims...and if the dies dont fit the cases that are fired in an old dim chamber they will go boom,,,but not shoot rite or last long...
The x-tra .040" neck length gives a lot of flexibility on seating depth allowing the use of bullets from 60 gr to 107 when the FB dim is rite....the Norma Lapua dims are critical...I wuldnt buy-rent-borrow-or build anything but the latest design that has all of the bump-neck-bushing dies available......Roger

I am going to have my buddy mic them both out. I am getting them at good enough price that I'll take a chance. They are/were posted here, and the $$$ is on its way. My buddy is teaching me how to finish, chamber, true, crown, etc...

I have a Mauser action and will probably buy an Adams/Bennet 6mm 1/10" barrel blank or two to practice on and see how they turn out. I can get one of them cheaper then a pulled barrel from a shooter! I can always re-chamber to 243 Win and have a hunting rifle. I had a 6.5x55 BRNO that shot 3/4" @ 100yds with the 2nd load that I tried and it had an A/B barrel on it,never tired to get it smaller because that was good enough to shoot deer).

I have two of those little green Remington boxes with two virgin SA receivers in them that I will eventually get to when I am ready to call Lilja. I also have two H-S stocks that I am re-glassing to my liking.

80) 6mm PPC finisher .262 neck - Manson - New, bushing pilot - $65

Thanks________

Pretty tough to measure a reamer with out a comparator of sorts.
Most reamers have the neck size and freebore marked on them.
The best way to measure a reamer is to cut a chamber and them cast it
and measure from there.
If it's a true Remington 6br, toss it and get the correct one for your Lapua brass,it will save a lot of headaches, and stress...
