6BR piercing primers

Was shooting my 6BR today, average velocity 2810 FPS, H4895 powder, pierced 3 primers cci 450’s. Never had this issue before, maybe time for a Gretan firing pin assembly

What action? Might need your firing pin bushed. Is your load hot in combination with hot ambiet temperature? Not enough information.

Remington 700 action
You might be on to something, this load shot fine several months back when it was cooler, today was mid to upper 80’s here in Indiana

Could be a carbon ring causing a pressure spike combined with the higher temps. May need a good brushing and some JB or Isso. Never hurts to bush a 700 bolt face when using small primers.

KISS!! START HERE. Brass too short for the chamber, trigger pulled, firing pin pushes the case forward in the chamber, round goes BANG, primer tries to back out of the pocket, case head hits the bolt face and firing pin pushes primer back into pocket pierces primer. Once fired, brass will fit chamber and THAT issue won't happen again unless you end up pushing the shoulders back too far and you end up starting from scratch again.
Or, you could always just spend the $$$, get the firing pin bushed and still have the same issue cause you didn't fix the original problem. Again, KISS!;)

Yeah - as said - getting bushed doesn't rid the problem - which seems to be there as the velocity isn't high enough to warrant primer piercing. Shoulders set too far back. However - if your bullet is jammed and it does this - you may also be running hot with air temps and will need to lower your load maybe 1 1/2 grains. You don't need to bush to run normal loads
