As a competition shooter, if you were targeting your 6BR neck thickness .0110 but some brass measured .0115 would you re-work the brass get it the same of sort the brass by neck thickness like you might sort bullets by weight? What would be your targeted 6BR target neck thickness assuming a .268 chamber.
Ben
I can live with an 0.0005" variance.
I run a 0.262" neck 6mmBR rifle, and for a while, I was shooting cases that were cut to 0.009", for a total of 0.261" - very close, 0.001" total clearance.
The gun was a real princess - needed cleaning every time I looked at it, groups were good one day and horrid the next. It spent most of it's time collecting dust.
I saw a video series by Jack Nealy, and he suggested having a total clearance of 0.0025" to 0.003". So I cut ten cases and tried it... the the gun just plain purrrrrred.
So I re-neck turned 1050 Lapua cases from 0.009" to 0.0083" and re-annealed them. (That part sucked).
