6BR magazine/repeater

So without searching forever, what is the out come for 6BR repeater? Did anyone make a magazine or BDL bottom metal work? Making a varmintor for shorter bullets. Thanks everyone.

I have a 6 BR repeater using a Brux #4 barrel and modified Remington mag and follower (Bryants directions). Feeds 65gr VMAX's fine

I have done this with two .22BR's with a BDL floorplate set up. Used a shortened follower and spacer behind it. Have used both a .223 and a .308 follower for these conversions. Either seems to work. A Sako extractor is a great help in ejecting the fired case. Spring tension is critical. Not an easy conversion to do to get 100% reliability. Good luck.:D:D

The problem with the 6BR through a magazine is the heavy bullets. 105's and 107's tend to tip down as you extract them from the mag and the long point will get lodged in the lug cavity between the bolt and the breech. That will ruin your day on a rapid fire string. The lighter bullets, say anything below 90 gr. won't have that problem as the weight of the case with powder will offset the weight of the bullet out in front.

I am running a 6 BR with 105 hybrids out of an accurate .223 magazine. opened up the feed lips and lightly sanded the inside of the plastic insert and it feeds flawlessly. The plastic insert keeps the bullet from tipping down like described in the other post.

I have a similar conversion using the plastic AI.223 mag. Opened up the feed lips and it feeds great with a .22BR with the 75 A- max. Seems the single stack magazines run best for this conversion. At least in my experience. :D

My Dasher with 105s feed from the AICS mags with no conversions.

The AICS mag was more picky and had one mishap but the magpul 308 mag feed flawlessly.

length of the magazine is the issue with the magazine I am running and how far it is sticking out of the bottom. My rifle will still fit in my Eberle Stock backpack with the long 10 round .223 converted magazine but it's tight. Had a BDL conversion done by my gunsmith for a rifle I no longer own and it worked good. The principal of what he did seems to be the same principal of the primal rights conversion. I think any of them would work well, length of mag could be your deciding factor.
