6BR loads

Background:
First outing with new savage model 12 6BR,
Today main goal was to slowly break in barrel
Load: hornady Amax 105, alpha brass, varget 29gr
Started at 0.015 off the land,
At 13 round down range at 100yd was able to hold .75mao,pleased with first load
question I have are:
A.reasonable starting load?
B.lapua brass measured about 1.116-1.117 base to shoulder,
Then after first firing base to shoulder grew to 1.120-1.122, mild tight bolt extraction, but otherwise ok
(Dies are redding competition FL die and seating die set, will get bushings by next week or so)
I will full size resized brass before next reload,

Any advice from members would be appreciated,
Learning new caliber, very nice gentle recoil , my old shoulders like it
Thanks

If you haven't done so already, take a read through the sticky at the top of the 6BR, 6BRX, 6 Dasher, etc forum page (link below) and the 6BR Cartridge Guide on the Home Page of this site (link below) and I believe you will find just about all the info you need.

Good Shooting.

Great caliber. You have picked a winner. Besides the information provided above, proper rests, wind flags and trigger time, will all shrink your groups. A 6BR was the first rifle I ever owned that would consistently shoot where I pointed it. The shoulder thing I totally agree with. I have always disliked a gun that pounded my shoulder. I had shoulder surgery awhile back and it is just not healing, so I do so greatly appreciate the low recoil.
