6br ejection question

I had a local gunsmith build a remington 700 sa with lilja barrel in 6br, when I got it back he had taken the ejector out and said it would shoot better this way. For a couple months this was fine but as i realized that while varmint hunting having the ability to make faster followups would come in handy i decided to put it back in. With loaded rounds it ejects perfectly but fired hulls will not clear the action which requires me to manually pick them out. Is there any fix for this or am I just stuck with a single shot 700.

Remove a small amount of the metal from the rear of the ejector pin bottom and ramp with a die grinder or three cornered file so that the ejector sticks out farther. Be careful though as a little goes along way. I went too far when experimenting and not taking the time to see how much to remove and my varmint
rifle throws cartridges into the next county. I used a cutoff saw and vise grips, not very precise) I was in a hurry but bought additional ejector pins for the next time I disassemble the bolt.

Varminator has a pretty darn good idea there! The plunger/ejector needs to longer, protruding further out from the boltface).

Take the plunger out, and the groove that is in it needs to be openned very slightly the end that is closest to the spring.

Dont take to much though, as they do become a little excessive very quickly when ejecting brass...

Jerid,
The Remington and my model 70 push feed look like the same design however, I can't say for sure as I didn't take my Winchester out to look at it. Just looking at it the pin on the Winchester is flush with the bolt face and the Remington that ejects with such flare is slightly past the bolt face. I tried to find a Model 70 ejector pin and couldn't. Use great care if you don't have a spare.

Tried this fix on my 6mmbr, now I have a bolt gun that will eject both fired and unfired brass. No longer a single shot. Thanks a bunch
