6br barrel length velocities

That’s the thing I’d like to shoot out to 500 on targets, and I feel like I’d benefit from the higher BC of the 90-108. From what I’m gathering I’m going to lose about 60-80fps or less by chopping off 4 inches. I can live with that I think.

Then again I’ve read threads on here about guys shooting 30br in 300 And 600 yard f class and doing okay.

You probably read about people shooting a 6br at 300 and 600 yds.
Pull up an article that someone shot a 30br at 300 yds. and did ok, yes
at 600 yds. probably not....

30 BR-what are the downsides for using in F Class?

Last fall I shot an F Class 1K match next to a competitor in Blakely, Ga who was shooting a 30 BR. He shot a very respectable score winning the match in some very tricky wind. In fact I recall he cleaned the final relay during the strongest wind conditions. Thinking back on that match got me...

Apparently some feller used one in a 1000k match lol. I think at alot of local club matches, at least the ones ive attended this past year, ive seen some very oddball cartridges that did very well. I've also seen 3 guys with 30brs win place an show nearly every month at one local club at 300 yards. I'm not looking to go win the tack driver. Just compete against myself and shoot some booners.

Edit: In my mind they are booners...In reality they are scrub bucks. haha

Chop the barrel to 24". Build an accurate load with your bullets of choice from the 90-108 weight range. Take it to 500 and get proficient with it.
Quickload is definitely a good tool to have.
