6BR - Alliant TS 15.5

I’m pretty pleased with 15.5 in my straight 6BR. I’m new to the 6BR and BRA scene and I read all the posts about h4895 being the “magic dust” but I guess that’s non-existent now. I shot varget and it was ok, but this stuff shoots 5 shot big holes at 100 yards. The es/sd are in single digits. I carried it to my first midrange shoot and shot 198/9x on the first string. I know… rookie stuff to most of you.

I don’t have a fancy rifle, just a trued rem 700 with a preferred barrel blank barrel in a homemade stock. It’s nice to get a tiny bit of reward and enjoy shooting without breaking the bank.

I appreciate everyone on here who shares information and knowledge to those of us who are just starting in the competitive-precision shooting. This is invaluable for someone learning. Thank y’all.

I'll second your findings on the 15.5. I shot the stuff couple years ago and thought nothing could touch it. Its really good.

Glad you found a suitable alternative. I am using it in my Dasher and have been happy with RL15.5 as well.

I load 15.5 in my Dashers, along with RL-16. It's outstanding stuff.

Glad to hear it's working for you in your 6BR. It's worth a look in anything that works with Varget.

Very nice! Any idea of the muzzle speed with your load of 29.6 Gr of R15.5? Also does it fit in the case OK? Thank you.

2810 and it fits in the case well. I’d say 95% or there about. I am going to try to get a bit more speed on my next test. That was the highest charge I tried but there are no pressure signs at all.

Looks like 2800 fps is getting it done to me.
