6BR AI compared to the GRINCH

Under what circumstances would each be "more appropriate" in competition would one be the better choice ? I know the Grinch is a short-range cart. but the 6BR/AI with the correct twist shooting 80's ? I have a hunch they're not for the same game .

I have chambered both. The cases are very close. If you have a 308 boltface I would do the 6 bra. I have never seen anything perform better as a 1k cartridge with 105s including the dasher. I have far less experience with the grinch, but obviously if your boltface is for a ppc this would be a great choice. The 6 bra has the perfect capacity for a 105 in my opinion. The grinch may be better suited if you were wanting to shoot the 80s. I have just been so impressed with what I have seen with the bra and 105s. I am sure @BartsBullets could give you a lot more info on the grinch. @johara1 has been shooting 80s in the bra as well.

I cant answer that question. There is no correct answer. Too many variables and cartridges dont have ideal yardages. What are you looking to do with it?

I assumed that Bart S.was shooting the Grinch at short yardage and your opinion on the 6BRA is that it is optimum with 105's which would put it down as a 600-1000yd cartridge. Am I on the right path?

They are both so close to the same size they share more similarities than differences. Currently the bra would be my first choice for 600/1000 and 105s. They are shooting the grinch at 600 with success. Both cases have been reported to be excellent with the 80s. I am building a LV grinch for 80s right now and have done a pile of bra barrels and builds. I dont think theres been enough testing to know which case would have the edge with 80s.
