6BR 95 vrs 105 class bullets for 600

in the straight 6 BR with 27 inch 8 twist bbl would the extra speed of the 95 do better in wind at 600 than the slower 105s at 600,,I am sure at longer range the 105 would take over but in real world will the 95 hold its own against the 105at 600 from the same bbl,,

I know accuracy is top dog but sometimes at longer range a little wind cheating ability will help you shoot better than a load that would be more accurate in a underground tunnel,,

what bullet would you start with in a new 27 inch 8 twist 6BR,,

thanx eric

Run the numbers and at 600 in a 10mph cross wind the 95 has about 3" more drift than a 105/107. The speed doesn't make up for the lost BC.

The short bearing surface to 95's can be fussy - IME
Far more bullet selections in the 105 class to chose from.
I suggest to throat for the 105 class bullets and run with em'....

Forget about 95's at 600! If there is any wind at all they will not even come close to the 103,105,108BT,VLD, or Hybrid bullets! Been there- done that! Won't do it again! Samuel Hall

+1. Stick with the 105-108gr with high bc that your rifle shoots best. JME. WD

+2 to what SHall said. My experience in my 243 AI, but the principal is the same. Even though I driving them faster than you, the 95's can't buck the wind like the 105's. +1 to what DMoran said in as much there are lots of very good bullets to choose in the 105 class from if you have a temperamental barrel.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

I want to try the Sierra TMK`s in my Dasher, but i`m just shooting varmints, so i guess i will see how that plays out.

As for target shooting i too believe the 105`s are the way to go.

I would definitely follow the advice given by the above members.

Phil.
