6BR 600 yd bullet - 95gr. Berger?

Presently I shoot Berger 105VLDs for 300 & 600 yardages in competition. They shoot quite well, but I beleive my gun has greater potential. I shoot an 8 twist factory Savage 12 Benchrest.
At 100 & 200 yardages, I use the Berger 80 grain varmint match and it shoots equally as well as most 6PPCs. Does anyone have experience with the Berger 95gr. VLDs for longer range shooting?
any other suggestions? Thanks for any replys.

For me, the 95's shoot basically the same as the 105's, maaaaybe a teensy bit better in good conditions. Only one way to find out... :)

The 95gr VLD's still hammer small game out to 700 yards. Beyond that I feel the 105gr steps in when taking wind into account. The 95gr VLD was my small game go to bullet in my 6BR / 6BRX :)

The last time I looked at the numbers my barrel was producing, the 95's gave up less wind drift. The higher speed offsets the difference. A lot great scores are shot at Piedmont with the 95's.

I shot a 199-13x with Berger 95gr VLDs using an unmodified Cooper M22 chambered in 6mm Remington. This was at 600 yds. I used them because my rifle is a 10 twist and won't stabilize the heavier target bullets, so I can't really say for sure that they are better than the 105s, but I can say that they work pretty darn well.

The Oct 6, 2010 article in the Daily Bulletin portion of this web site implies that the 95-grain bullets might have equal or even better ballistic performance than the 105-class bullets (at least at mid ranges - up to 600 yards). Apparently the increased velocity achieved (at the same pressure) makes up for the slightly reduced BC of smaller bullets.

Anyone else have similar experiences?
