6AI fireform accuracy

Have seen a couple of threads in the past while asking about accuracy while fireforming. Do most of my 6AI fireforming at F Class practise. Now and then I finish up a lot at the bench. A little milder today with a light rain and light headwind, 3C (37F), so I headed out to my club`s 300 metre bench range. Using Win brass and primers, RL 22, 105 AMax moly. Put 5 into 3/16 at 100 metres (110 yds) shown below. MacLennon 30 inch 8 twist barrel, trued 722 action. Pix explains why I have never noticed any difference in accuracy at F Class practise while fireforming. Just an elevation drop due to lower velocity.

Ty, great stuff! I want to try the 95 MKings at 300 and 500 next Summer. 7828 is a beauty powder.

A lot of guys are concerned about using up barrel life while fireforming. Doing most of it at F Class practise makes me feel like the shots count towards working on trigger control and wind reading.

I do minimum brass prep for fireforming. Unsorted brass, iron the case mouth with the turn mandril from a neck turn kit, deburr case mouth in and out, deburr inside flash hole.

After fireforming, trim for length and turn necks 60%. Sort by weight.
