65 grain V-Maxes and IMR 8208

I have a lb of 8208 and was thinking about loading up some 65 Grain V-Maxes with it. Anybody on hear test these waters yet? I would be interested in any responses you have to give.

I have the same combo to try out of my XP-100. I will start out with about 31.5 gr of 8208.

I think with this weight bullet it should be a pretty nice combo, looks to be right on for good velocity and being very accurate. I'm kind of thinking it would be a great prairie dog load due to the temperature insensitivity. I will throw some loads together for this weekend. I will post the results. Let me know how your development does.

Apples and oranges, but I read an article about 65 gr. flat bases from a full custom 6PPC and the guy had pressure @ 32 gr. This was in a .237 barrel. I load the 65 vmax for a friend's PPC (N133)and does it ever tear up the chucks! Just use your head, and let us know what you figure out. DW

Have you ever tried Accurate Arms 2200 powder? It has the same burn rate as N133 and it is my powder that I use with 55 grain Ballistic tips for varminting. I get 3900 fps easy with no pressure signs in the 6mm BR and it shoots awesome. One of my buddies let me know about this powder. It saves you a couple of bucks if you do quite a bit of shooting compared to the N133.
