he only makes these when he can get the jackets and i just got my first 500 and loaded some in my very accurate 22 BR that will one hole with 64 bergers. i shoot only a few vlds and have read here that they can be a little tempermental as far as getting them to shoot. i first noted due to the shape of the bearing surface going to the ogive, these bullets engrave the lands all at once. a tangent ogive allows a more gentle and gradual engraving before a full "jam". i was able to push them into the lands .015 and tested a few with vihtavouri 540 using loads that worked with the 64 bergers. the groups were not that impressive. i also noted the bearing surface on these vlds is quite a bit less than the bergers and wonder if i should try a faster powder since the bullet drag should be less. i can increase neck tension by .001 to see if i can get more into the lands since currently if i try seating longer, the neck tension isn't tight enough to hold the bullet an it seats into the neck to a a point where neck tension and lands "push back" equalizes, which is about .015 into the lands. don't read much about these, but i am hoping i can get them to shoot equal to the bergers and cheek 63s. thanks in advance.
