62 ELD_VT 223 data?

Does Hornady's app have much data for this? I don't want to purchase it if there isn't much there.
Would other 62 grain data be pretty close? Or is the bullet different enough to change it ?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I’m about to start shooting them pretty soon but I work out in the heat and I’m exhausted to shoot. The problem you’re going to have with mine is that I’m 223AI and I have a long freebore with a 1 degree 30 minute leade angle so my stuff is going to be fast and no use to you. They’re long bullets and need a decent freebore to seat out past where the donut will form.

Nope. They actually do not require a long freebore at all. Quite the contrary.

Mine running at 2.430 and 2.450 oal in 2 different factory chambered 223 s. Fits neck / shoulder real nice with base (full diameter) sitting right there. Getting 3100 fps quite easily with both rifles. (22” and 24” barrels)

Care to DM any data?

My experience exactly. The bullet is long, but very very sleek! My new favorite in my Tikka .223 8 twist. Running my suppressor, dinking around, shooting and truing my rangefinder at 519 yrds, the pop of the bullet hitting a rock face is most impressive! Lots of fun. Getting ready for some serious coyote sniping, as they are hell bent on taking out my favorite cat! I don't think so!

Those are some very good groups and speeds for a 20" barrel in an AR-15.
I only did one round of group testing and I didn’t do any more testing with them. It was not overly impressive, POI was all over the place compared to what this barrel does with a combo it likes. I may try them in 22 arc, I know my 22 arc shoots the factory 62 vt very well.

In my experience, which is very limited with this bullet, it likes to be very close to the rifling. Mine comes alive at .010 into the rifling just like most VLD'S do in my experience. Probably not possible in an AR type of rifle. Just throwing this info out there.

Yeah, wouldn’t be much left in the case lol

I had the same thought about load data. I found free load data on hodgdon website.
The 62gr data on the Hodgdon site is for a Barnes bullet. I am hesitant to call it an apples to apples on the data. That long Hornady bullet might be an entirely different animal.

I think it'll be close. The difference in powder charge would be due to any difference in bearing surface.

I found eld-vt data recently ill look for it. Although maybe it was for 22 ARC, but I thought it was 223.
