April 12/13, Vapor Trail will host the first 600 yard benchrest match of the season, weather is looking great so far!
We will shoot lg, hg, tac and tru tac both days, Saturday start at 8am is always the plan, Sunday 8am for sure .
Dinner served both days.
Range will be open all day on Friday.

We have 23 light gun shooters that I already know of and several tac guys coming.

Safe travels guys looking forward to catching up

We are going to do something this year, that I have wanted to do before and never got done.

I’m going to have a year end awards for top lg, hg, 2gun and both tac classes, based on accumulated points thru the matches, have not got it ironed out exactly yet, but I will

These will be nice steel plaques , something similar in size to our Rendezvous trophies

That's a great idea. Sorry I'm not going to be there this weekend.
I've often thought ranges within a geographic area could could do something similar.
Like a regional season points between multiple ranges/clubs with only points from those ranges counting towards the regional total.
The participating ranges could then split the cost of any awards.
Even without trophies/awards it would be nice just to keep track of it and see where people end up within a region.

When you are 400 miles to Humboldt & Elbow Lake, 600+ to Harris and 800+ to the Valley it's hard to measure yourself on the national level.
I think something like this would get some people shooting again. It might also get some shooters traveling more within a region and supporting the other ranges participating in something like this.

Thanks for stepping up on this!

Edit to add,

I really like what you're doing with the Tac especially the true tac class.

I've got nothing against the Tac class but it should really be renamed unlimited with a magazine. LOL
I don't really see how it's an entry level, get new shooters interested in BR class as I thought was the original intention.

Totally agree with everything ya said!
Hope to see ya in may

27 shooters total today, we were missing a few of our regulars, looks like a lot of interest for 2025,
We ate good, shot four different classes, had a good time and finished with awards at 2ish, more to come tomorrow, sounds like more of the same wind!!

Thanks guys for supporting the place

Match 2 results

Everyone is gone, 2 relays of light gun 2 of heavy and a full relay of tac, in some dang fast switching conditions, everyone fed, awards and on the road by 12:30!

Not possible without a kickass target crew and stats crew, and chef
Thanks to everyone

Today’s conditions were no improvement over yesterday’s, warmer maybe but the switches were extremely fastIMG_1590.jpegIMG_1591.jpegIMG_1598.jpegIMG_1599.jpegIMG_1597.jpeg

Despite, in my opinion, some of the quickest switch’s I have witnessed at the valley, Someone always shots a tiny one!
Rob Unertl, shoots a .701 at 600 yds to win lil group of the day, impressive, congrats on the screamer group.

Doug Ervin shot a .955 right before Rob’s, impressive guys!!

Both were using Vapor Trail 103gr

Thanks for making the bullet shine in some really tough conditions
