600 yd IBS

I am getting ready to do an ammo test of factory ammo and have lots of choices up to 77gr. when I search for a .223 80 grain load I have only found three options. DoubleTap, Nosler and Federal. Not even the venerable Black Hills. Heaven forbid I would want to try Berger 90s :) I have spent a lot of time digging around and it doesn't seem I can go out and buy a box of 80 grain anywhere, be it Berger or Sierra. Sure, I can buy bullets, but I haven't started reloading yet. i just want to buy some 80gr to see what my 1:8 20" RRA match barrel can do with it as 80gr is supposed to be it's peak. I realize the COAL will exceed magazine length unless it can possibly squeeze into one of those thin-walled SS mags, but for testing, I don't care if it will fit in the mag or not. I know Hornady also has an 80gr ELD bullet, but I don't see them packaging it ready to shoot. I did find some 85gr Barnes loads...but I thought I would try 80gr before moving up a step to 85.

Seems a lot of the larger grain bullets are only packaged as 5.56. Is that due to them being loaded hotter than .223? The DoubleTap is labeled .223, the Federals are labeled XM223, but the Barnes and Nosler are labeled 5.56.

Thanks
