600 yard match

Other than the 6 Dasher, what are 600 yard shooters using these days. At our monthly matches there are mostly 6mm (Dasher, BR, Mojo, BRX and .243's). Of course Henry has a wildcat 6mm based on a .270 Win. case that shoots very well.

6 X 47 & 6.5 X 47 are pretty common along with the other 6mms you mentioned and i've also seen a 6 Creedmoor a time or two.....284s and .284 Shehanes are pretty common as well.

We believe that it is a "97 Mitsubishi muffler, but can't be sure. ;D James

We shoot once a month (March-Oct.) on the 3rd Sat at 9:00AM. The range is in extreme NE Louisiana (just west of Pioneer, LA). The name of the range is Howard Prince Memorial Range. If any of you are in the neighborhood, please come and join in the fun. Our first match for 2015 will be Sat., March21. There is a $10 fee and we shoot a 20-shot match for score only. We have unlimited sighters on steel gongs. The target is the standard IBS 600 yard target. James Mock

JD that is one sweet rifle you have. I must assume it is a Bat receiver on a leonard stock? Tell us about it!

My old BAT (RB/LP/RE) was made before they used CNC equipment, but it has the same head space, etc. as the newer models. It is a Model B octagon and has a .308 boltface that will handle the PPC well. I use only this one action for all of my competition. I have barrels chambered in .22PPC-short, 6 PPC, 6mm Dasher, and .30 BR. It has a Terry Leonard stock and was originally owned by Al Weaver. I traded another BAT for it with Joe Krupa and have used it every since as my only BR rifle. It is an old friend and I am thinking of passing it down to one of my 7 grandsons.....but that may cause a problem! Good shooting...James Mock
