600 and 1000 yard tolerances?

First off I’d like to know if or is there any tolerances to the 600 and 1000 yard distances from target to bench?
secondly I’m going to measure or range and see just that ours measures.
Thirdly, if I’m dead on or within the tolerances I’m considering registering Strategic edge and host some matches next year but the kicker will be these will most likely be held on a week day not weekends.
Let me know your thoughts? I’m sure there will be lots negative on registered matches during the week but it’ll have to be that for now.

I think offering some matches on weekdays is a great idea. Not everyone has the same work schedules and more opportunities, regardless of when they are, is a good thing!

Our Manatee 600 range is 628 yards to the target line.

We had to do that because of possible skip or splatter off the plates that might clear the 35ft. backstop and go into a park behind the line. When we had the line at 603 yards we did not have issues but anyone wanting to use a clay bird on the bank behind needed to make an elevation change.

It would cost tens of thousands to move the backstop forward 20 yards or so. Sometimes it is just not worth the hassle for a few yards.

James,
I asked the same question a few years ago when we were going through all the mental and physical gymnastics of establishing a 600 yard BR program. The general answer was, get it close and call it good. No official tolerances were quoted to me when I asked. Hope this helps.

Interested for sure but a couple questions. I know there is an "IBS-style" 600 yard there now. I wouldn't mind seeing both IBS 600 and 1,000 yard there. Nice area and good hotels plus a great range.
I do think some would be put off but the benches though.
