6 ppc with .262 neck to .268?

If I got a .262 neck is it hard to open up to .268?

Not a great idea. Best to just prep some brass for the 262 and switch when the barrel is done.

How much room do you have to set the barrel back? Set barrel back length of the neck and rechamber with the correct reamer!

Sure, it is easy enough, (in theory), to do with a correct size chucking reamer,
Getting it perfect, as in making sure it is dead straight with the original, and stops at exactly the correct depth is the key.
Do you have a 6PPC Reamer with a .268 neck. That is the easiest way, but you might have to take it in a little further to insure everything is established to size, making it necessary to set the shoulder and cone back a tad.
Years ago, when I switched over to a .269 neck, that is what I did to the several .262 neck barrels I had. And of course, by setting it back a little, you will freshen up the throat.

JGS makes neck reamers too. You can order a 0.268 neck reamer from them.
